Anthony Martinez Named October Driver of the Month
National Carriers is pleased to announce owner operator, Anthony Martinez has been named Driver of the Month for October, 2014. He is an owner operator in the NCI Livestock Division and was awarded a bonus check of $500. NCI uses a strict criteria when choosing a driver of the month. Martinez met or exceeded all requirements which determines Driver of the Month. He is now a finalist for the Driver of the Year award for 2014 which includes an additional bonus check of $5000.
Martinez said, “I was not expecting this award. I come to work every day and when I am here, that’s what I do, work. I just do what I am told to do.” Martinez lives in Liberal, KS with his wife and children and has worked at National Carriers since March of 2013.
Originally from Pueblo, Colorado, he moved to Liberal with his mother when he was five years old. After graduating from Liberal High School he stayed in the area to raise his four children with his wife Charity. Before coming to NCI, he spent the previous five years driving truck in the oilfield. He tired of the constant highs and lows in the petroleum business and opted to work for NCI. Here he was found the steady work and income he had hoped for.
Martinez began as a fleet driver and eventually purchased the truck he was driving from its owner. Recently, he has purchased a second truck with plans to build a small fleet of trucks at NCI. He is an excellent example of the youthful leadership evolving at National Carriers.
