Olvera and Ware named DOM for March and April

Anthony Olvera of Houston, Texas was given the honor for the month of March. Having driven for the past twenty-eight years he has transported freight for National Carriers the last three years on the Southwest Regional Fleet. During that time he has had an excellent safety and customer service record.

“My father was a driver. When I was eleven or twelve years old I would ride with him. It was the seventies, diesel was sixty cents a gallon, the speed limit was fifty-five miles an hour, and I learned how to drive while with him. Dad emphasized backing and as I grew older he taught me how to back into any dock situation,” Olvera shared.

Charles Ware of Sylacauga, Alabama was selected as driver of the month for April. He operates his truck on National Carriers 48 State Fleet. He began his trucking career driving locally in the cotton mills of his hometown. Later, he expanded to hauling refrigerated goods throughout the nation.

“During my nine years at NCI, I have never been sick or taken a vacation day. My dispatcher is great and everyone treats me with respect. The best thing about National Carriers is the loads. The freight has good miles and adequate time to get to the delivery point,” Ware said.  National Carriers spokesman, Ed Kentner, commented, “Both Anthony and Charles are fine representatives of the professional drivers at NCI.  They are safety-oriented, customer-friendly, and quick to help anyone in need. Each earned a bonus for their recognition and are now finalists for National Carriers, Inc. Driver of the Year. When named next year, the winner will receive a ten thousand dollar award.
