Known as “Georgia Boy” during his early years in trucking, company driver Ed Jones has been named December Driver of the Month. He began his trucking career hauling logs as a teenager in his home state of Georgia. Prior to joining NCI he spent several years transporting cattle and currently he serves our customers on the Moultrie dedicated fleet delivering frozen freight.
“I thought James White was pulling my leg when he called to inform me that I had been chosen as Driver of the Month. I am very proud to earn the recognition. Every day I try to do what our retired Vice President Loren Bridge challenged me to do when I began on this route, to take care of our customers as if they were my own,” Ed explained.
His driver manager, Barbara Armstrong, shared that Ed is good natured, pleasant to work with, very dependable, and an all-around standup guy. Over the past year he has driven over 138,000 miles without an accident or a late delivery. He will receive a bonus of $1000 and is now a finalist for National Carriers Driver of the Year. The winner will be announced April 12th at our DOY banquet.
