Outstanding Driver for March Named Driver of the Month
On April 2nd Rickey Born read the latest National Carriers Facebook post asking for nominations for March Driver of the Month. He was curious what criteria was used to select the National Carriers Driver of the Month. He clicked on the attached link and read through the list. One by one he read through the prerequisites . After each one he paused and thought to himself – I meet that requirement.
MUST HAVE A CLEAN AND NEAT APPEARANCE
MUST HAVE A POSITIVE ATTITUDE
MUST NOT HAVE A PREVENTABLE ACCIDENT OR CARGO CLAIM IN THE PAST 365 DAYS
NO PREVENTABLE SERVICE FAILURES IN THE PAST 365 DAYS
CSA SCORE MUST BE POSITIVE, NO FAILED DOT INSPECTIONS
MUST HAVE COMPLETED ONE YEAR SERVICE TO BE ELIGIBLE
MUST NOT HAVE BEEN NAMED DOM IN THE PAST 18 MONTHS OR DOY IN PAST 60 MONTHS
As he completed the list he thought to himself, I meet or exceed the criteria, why not nominate myself. After placing his name in the Facebook comment section he thought no more of it and went on about his business. On April 9th he received a call from the selection committee notifying him that he was the National Carriers Driver of the Month for March 2015.
“Rickey is a US Armed Service Veteran. He is very particular and thorough is doing his job. I think he is an awesome driver and I am so glad he has been recognized for his outstanding work,” said Born’s driver manager, Debra Haley.
