NCI Donates to Survivors of Domestic Violence : The Family Place

For the third year National Carrier’s employees and drivers are joining together to donate items to leading the organization in the Dallas area for victims of family violence. The Family Place is delivering proven programs that address incest, emotional and physical abuse. The Family Place provides free, comprehensive services that prevent violence and fully support women, children and men on their path from fear to safety. The Family Place empowers victims of family violence by providing safe housing, counseling tree-and-giftsand skills that create independence while building community engagement and advocating for social change to stop family violence.

Meg Bittner, volunteer and In-Kind Manager for The Family Place said, “We thank National Carriers so much for the items they have donated. I will share that we will have five to ten mothers each week who show up at our facility with nothing more than the clothes on their backs and these donations will be put to use immediately.”betty-2016

Serving as collection chairman for National Carriers is Betty Moore. She said, ” We hope to assist in helping families in need get a fresh start not just during Christmas, but into the New Year. By giving much needed necessities such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, towels, sheets and blankets we are showing that “Carriers Cares”. Toys are also favorite items to donate, used or new. Just imagine the smile that you can bring to a child’s face.”

 Pickup is scheduled for December 9th.wreath-spouse-death-in-tx-2015 The ribbons on the wreath represents each death during 2015 in Texas that was  attributed to domestic violence.

 

Employees and drivers who wish to contribute can drop off their donations at the front reception area at the NCI headquarters in Irving, TX. Boxes will be in the lobby underneath the Christmas tree. Items do not need to be wrapped. The Family Place can use the following new or gently used items. Anything that can be used for someone who is “starting over”. Personal hygiene products, bedding, kitchen items, bathroom items, clothing, footwear, can goods, non-perishable food items, furniture and toys.pickup
